Premier Ed Stelmach, as stated by Dr. Paul Pacquet in his article entitled, "Wolves fall prey to Canada's rapacious tar sands business"
"On the pretext of protecting caribou, (in Alberta) wolves (in Alberta) are threatened with a cull. But the real 'conservation' is of oil industry profits" This sentence was written by Dr. Paul Pacquet in an article in the the Saturday, September 17th, 2011 online edition of The Guardian.UK newspaper To read the entire article written by him please click on the following link:

Mr. Stelmach later in Dr. Pacquet's article he states the following paragraph which is an embarrassment to all Albertans:
"Clearly, the caribou recovery strategy is not based on ecological principles or available science. Rather, it represents an ideology on the part of advocates for industrial exploitation of our environment, which subsumes all other principles to economic growth, always at the expense of ecological integrity. Owing to the breadth of the human niche, which continues to expand via technological progress, the human economy grows at the competitive exclusion of nonhuman species in the aggregate. The real cost of Alberta's tar sands development, which includes the potential transport of oil by Northern Gateway and Keystone XL pipelines is being borne by wolves, caribou and other wild species."
Well Premier and your cabinet, once again you have embarrassed all Albertans with your lack of willingness to protect the wildlife in this planet, instead all you seem to care about is Big Oil!Now people in other countries are criticizing you and this criticism is causing me and everyone else who loves the Wildlife and the natural habitat in Alberta, to be shamed! Mr. Stelmach before you take your beautiful pension from the tax-paying citizens of this province, and before you head off into the sunset with your Golden pension ,the residents of this province have a right to know what You and your ministers are going to do about this situation which Mr. Pacquet discusses!! Your so-called "caribou recovery strategy" has now placed all Albertans in the firing line for criticism from the World! Not only has the situation with our caribou being justly criticized by Dr. Pacquet, but also your Government's lack of concern for the wildlife and all non-animal life in this Province has also been expounded upon by Dr. Pacquet, and other scientific experts in our World! The residents of this Province do not deserve such a position,nor do we accept it on account of you and your Government! We do not deserve to be scorned by Dr. Pacquet, an internationally recognized authority on mammalian carnivores, especially wolves (source:http://www.guardian.co.uk/profile/paul-paquet ) Premier Stelmach what are you going to do in response to this latest criticism of your Government and its lack of policies in these matters?
