Pachycondyla chinensis ants bring their help to a food source!

Wow I just read an interesting article at the BBC News website. This article discusses a type of stinging ant which has the scientific name, Pachycondyla chinensis. You may know that many species of ant will leave a chemical trail from a food source back to their nest so that other ants can come and help bring back the food source to the nest. This is definitely not the case with the  Pachycondyla chinensis species! Guess how a member will show another member of its nest where the food source is? The answer is that the ant which has found the food source will come back to the nest and actually pick up another ant of the nest in its jaws and carry this ant to the food source to show it where it is!  What an amazing way of  communicating this very important information to other members of the nest don't you think? Aren't you glad you are not a member of this ant species?? LOL
