On this day on April 12th, 1917 during World War I Canadian forces successfully complete the taking of Vimy Ridge from the Germans. Thank you to all the brave Canadian troops who fought in this battle and this "War to End all wars" in order to perserve my freedom! My Grandfather was one of the brave soldiers who fought and was seriously wounded in the Battle for Vimy Ridge. 10,602 brave Canadian soldiers were injured in the Battle for Vimy Ridge and 3,598 Candians were killed during this battle!
