A new FIDE Grand Prix event is about to start in the country of Qatar, featuring these players:GM Humpy Koneru,India, GM Antoaneta Stefanova, Bulgaria, GM Pia Cramling, Sweden,GM Nana Dzagnidze ;Republic of Geogia, GM Marie Sebag, France, GM Maia Chiburdanidze,Republic of Georgia ;GM Zhu Chen, Qatar, ;GM Elina Danielian, Armenia, GM Xu Yuhua,China,(all of the preceding players hold the Male Grandmaster Title), WGM Munguntuul Batkhuyag, Mongolia,WGM/IM Marta Fierro, Ecuador,;
WGM/IM Lilit Mrktchian, Armenia.;The players will be participating in a 10 round tournament which runs from February 22nd-March 5th (with one free day given during the tournament) The time control to be used in this tournament is 120m:60moves:15m+30sec/move on move 61.
