2011 FIDE Candidates matches:Kramnik and Grischuk advance

A tie-break round was played today at the 2011 FIDE Candidates matches in Kazan. These matches were necessary after two matches, Kramnik and Radjabov, and Grischuk and Aronian were tied at the end of the regular-time control games. In the tie-breaks Kramnik (left photo above) ended up defeating Radjabov (although this match was not without controversy:Apparently Kramnik's clock was malfunctioning during one of the blitz- playoff games.) In the other tie-break, Alexander Grischuk (right photo above) upset the tournament favorite Levon Aronian to move on to the Candidates semi-final. The two players had split the first two games of their rapid match, and then drew the third game. Grischuk then won the fourth game to advance to the semi-final round. So the semi-final round is now set:here are the pairings for the semi-final round:

Kamsky-Gelfand

Kramnik-Grischuk

These matches begin tomorrow in Kazan.

It is rather appealing to note that neither the http://www.fide.com website nor the official tournament website at http://kazan2011.fide.com/  have updates of these quarter-final matches! Why is this the case FIDE? Best wishes to the four players who have made it to the Semifinal round!
